Say hello to Animesh, our Senior Software Engineer!
His journey into software engineering started with a mandatory programming class during college. What began as a box-ticking exercise quickly turned into a genuine passion for building things and solving problems, especially the thrill of seeing solutions come to life. After picking up his Computer Science degree in Nepal, he specialised in PHP (back when it ruled web development!), Python, and JavaScript. A year ago, the call to pursue a master's brought him to the UK and now he's part of the team here at ASquared (yay!).
Animesh's favourite projects are anything AI-related, particularly around enhancing efficiencies and solving complex problems. During his master's, he was buried in research papers full of heavy mathematical terms and found existing AI tools weren't cutting it. So naturally, he built an AI system that chunks large documents and breaks questions into digestible parts to retrieve better answers. He also developed an AI system for stock analysis (part master's requirement, part personal interest in investing) that uses multiple agents to discuss news, technical indicators, and patterns to predict stock movements.
Outside of work, Animesh used to spend his free time hiking and trekking to mountain base camps and high-altitude lakes in Nepal. These days, you're more likely to find him deep into fantasy series (Star Wars hooked him as a teenager) and diving into a LOT of fan theories. He’s also a big Game of Thrones fan, though let's not talk about the ending... to anyone. And if you're lucky, Animesh might cook you some delicious Nepali food or rope you in as a guinea pig for his latest recipe experiments.
What’s your go-to snack?
Mung dalmoth. Spicy and crunchy.
If you could have invented any technology, what would it have been and why?
It would have been the airplane. To be the first person in history to overcome gravity and rise into the sky must have been unforgettable.
What’s your favourite tech joke?
How many programmers does it take to change a light bulb? ...None, because it is a hardware problem.
